Gov. Pamela Baricuatro welcomed beneficiaries, national government officials, regional directors, local officials, and partner institutions during the main program and ceremonial turnover of assistance at the Capitol Social Hall.

Representing President Marcos during the Cebu gathering was Secretary Philip Lo of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas. Also present were Vice Governor Glenn Anthony Soco, Provincial Board members, Atty. Jarred Alexander C. Gullas of the Presidential Management Staff, regional directors, mayors, Capitol department heads, and representatives of participating government agencies.

For Gov. Pam, the gathering showed what public service should look like when different levels of government work together to make assistance easier for people to reach.

“𝙈𝙖𝙤 𝙜𝙮𝙪𝙙 𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙞 𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙪𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙖 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙗𝙞𝙨𝙮𝙤 𝙥𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙤: 𝙣𝙜𝙖 𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙜𝙤𝙗𝙮𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙨 𝙙𝙪𝙤𝙡, 𝙢𝙖𝙨 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚, 𝙪𝙜 𝙢𝙖𝙨 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙨𝙖 𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙖𝙣 𝙨𝙖 𝙠𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙣,” she said.

To accommodate thousands of beneficiaries, service areas were established at the Capitol Grounds, Capitol Parking Lot I, and the rear portion of the Capitol.

The Cebu program was also linked via teleconference with selected gatherings of local government units around the country, with President Marcos joining the nationwide activities and receiving greetings and well-wishes from Cebuanos.

During the brief interaction, Gov. Pam greeted the President on behalf of the Province of Cebu and thanked him for the national government’s assistance following the earthquake and Bagyong Tino that struck Cebu last year.

“𝗠𝗿. 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗱𝗮𝗴𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗮𝗱 𝗸𝗮𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗴 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘂𝘀 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝗴𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗶𝗻𝗼,” Gov. Pam said.

She likewise wished President Marcos good health and strength as he continues to serve the country.

More than a one-day caravan, the activity reflected a shared goal between the national and provincial governments: to make public service closer, easier to access, and more responsive to the actual needs of the people.

As Gov. Pam reminded the Cebuanos gathered at the Capitol:

“Kini para sa katawhan, ug kini para kaninyo.”
