Gov. Pamela Baricuatro administered the oath of office to Melissa de Leon on September 11, formally installing her as a new member of the Sangguniang Bayan of Daanbantayan during a ceremony at the Office of the Governor.
Melissa, who serves as Barangay Captain of Poblacion, Daanbantayan, fills the council seat left vacant following the passing of her sister-in-law, Councilor Chona βBataβ de Leon.
With her oath, Councilor de Leon formally begins a new chapter of public service, carrying with her the responsibility of representing and serving the people of Daanbantayan in the municipal council.
Witnessing the ceremony were Fourth District Rep. Sun Shimura, Provincial Board Member Kerrie Keane Shimura, and members of Councilor de Leonβs immediate family.
Gov. Pam wished the new councilor well as she takes on her responsibilities and continues serving her community.
