Gov. Pamela Baricuatro joined the 𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐓 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 in celebrating its 𝟏𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 on Sunday, September 27, at DepEd Ecotech, recognizing a decade of volunteers stepping forward whenever communities need them most.
In her message, Gov. Pam emphasized that leadership is not defined by position or title, but by the willingness to 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲.
For the past 10 years, she said, ACCERT has demonstrated this kind of leadership in the field—through its members and volunteers responding to communities during challenging times.
“You do not need a title to be a leader. Every time you take initiative, help another person, protect your community, and encourage your fellow volunteers, you are already exercising leadership,” Gov. Pam said.
She encouraged ACCERT’s leaders and members across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao to continue serving with integrity, humility, courage and compassion, while strengthening partnerships and inspiring the next generation of volunteers.
“An organization becomes strong not because of one leader, but because its people remain united by a shared mission.”
Gov. Pam also greeted ACCERT Founding Chairman-President Dr. Miguel C. Ortiz on his birthday and congratulated the entire organization as it begins another decade of service.
Joining the celebration were Hon. Benjur Abalos Jr., Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival, retired PLtGen. Rhodel O. Sermonia, ACCERT Special Assistant to the President Ret. Police Lt. Fernando Samontanez Jr., members of the Executive Committee, chapter directors, officers, members, volunteers and partners from across the country.
As ACCERT enters its next decade, Gov. Pam expressed hope that its members will remain ready to respond wherever they are needed—building stronger communities through leadership, unity, volunteerism and resilience.
