The financial assistance is expected to help fund projects and programs aimed at addressing the needs of residents and supporting the municipality’s continuing development.
Celebrating Cordova’s fishing heritage
The Dinagat Festival is a celebration that reflects Cordova’s strong connection to the sea and its fishing heritage.
The term “Dinagat” comes from the Visayan word dagat, meaning sea. The name pays tribute to the municipality’s coastal environment and the important role of fishing in the livelihood and culture of its people.
The annual celebration in honor of Señor San Roque brings together residents and visitors through various cultural and community activities.
Baricuatro’s participation in the festival also highlighted the Cebu Provincial Government’s support for local communities and municipalities across the province.
The turnover of financial assistance forms part of the provincial government’s efforts to support local development initiatives and strengthen collaboration with local government units.
Through continued partnerships between the provincial and municipal governments, the Capitol aims to help communities implement projects that respond to the needs of their residents while promoting sustainable local development.
