Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro and Capitol Health Consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan joined Danao City officials led by Mayor Nito Durano and Vice Mayor Ivy Durano, along with Provincial Board Member Stanley Caminero, in opening a surgical and medical mission at Cebu Provincial Hospital-Danao on Saturday morning, August 8.
The health mission is the first in a series of medical and surgical outreach activities that the Cebu Provincial Government has scheduled across the province this August as part of Cebuβs 457th Founding Anniversary celebration.

The initiative aims to bring essential healthcare services closer to communities and provide patients with access to medical consultations and surgical care through the provinceβs public healthcare system.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Borbon Mayor Nico Dotillos, highlighting the cooperation among local and provincial officials in supporting healthcare initiatives across northern Cebu.

The medical mission forms part of the provincial governmentβs continuing efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery and expand access to services, particularly for residents who may face challenges in obtaining specialized medical care.
Gov. Baricuatro has placed healthcare among the priorities of her administration, with the provincial government continuing to improve its hospitals, medical services, and community-based health programs.
The series of health missions scheduled throughout August is expected to benefit more Cebuanos while reinforcing the provinceβs commitment to accessible and responsive public healthcare.
The Danao City mission also underscores the importance of collaboration between the provincial government, local government units, healthcare professionals, and other partners in delivering services directly to communities.
