Gov. Pamela S. Baricuatro is set to lead Cebu’s official delegation to the 𝟮𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗮-𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼 (𝗖𝗔𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗢) in 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘅𝗶, 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗮, from September 19 to 21, as Cebu takes the international spotlight as the Philippines’ “Province of Charm.”
This year’s participation carries added significance as the Philippines is featured as the Country of Honor, providing Cebu an opportunity to present its investment potential, tourism destinations, local industries, products, services, and people before an international audience of government leaders, investors, businesses, buyers, and tourism stakeholders.
“It is an honor for Cebu to be chosen as a Province of Charm at CAEXPO, and I am excited for the opportunity to showcase our province, our people, and our potential to a wider international audience,” Gov. Pam said.
Cebu will have a dedicated presence at the expo, including exposure at the Philippine National Pavilion and participation in investment, tourism, cultural, and trade-related activities.
But for Gov. Pam, Cebu’s presence at CAEXPO is about more than promoting the province. The goal is to use international engagements to pursue investments, new markets, tourism opportunities, technology partnerships, stronger connectivity, and business relationships that can create concrete opportunities for Cebuanos.
The delegation will therefore bring not only government representatives but Cebu’s private sector and local enterprises closer to prospective international partners. Tuburan Coffee and other Cebuano products and enterprises will be showcased, while participating resorts and tourism stakeholders will have opportunities to directly promote their destinations and services.
Officials from the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry will likewise be part of Cebu’s delegation.
Gov. Pam pointed to previous international engagements that have already opened conversations and opportunities for the Province, including strengthened air connectivity following Cebu’s previous China engagement and discussions in Japan on potential waste-management solutions with GUUN.
“This time, with ASEAN countries and China coming together, and with investors, businesses, tourism stakeholders, and government leaders all in one place, I am optimistic that we will be able to open even more doors and secure new opportunities for Cebu,” she said.
As one of the major platforms for cooperation between China and ASEAN, CAEXPO covers areas including trade, investment, tourism, technology transfer, transportation, and economic cooperation.
For Cebu, the international stage is an opportunity to show that its charm extends far beyond its destinations.
“This is truly another chance for us to show the world just how charming Cebu is—not only because of our beautiful destinations, but because of our people, our talent, our opportunities, and everything that Cebu has to offer,” Gov. Pam said.
Through CAEXPO 2026, the Province continues its push to position Cebu as a competitive destination for investment, tourism, trade, and international partnerships—while ensuring that opportunities created abroad ultimately reach Cebuano businesses, workers, entrepreneurs, and communities at home.
