The Cebu Provincial Board (PB) recognized the organizers, partners, and stakeholders who contributed to the successful staging of the first Governor’s Zero Hunger Run, highlighting their efforts in promoting health, community solidarity, and food security in the province.
During its regular session on Monday, August 3, 2026, the PB approved Resolution No. 127 authored by Board Member Malcolm Sanchez, commending the lead organizers of the event, including the Cebu Provincial Sports Commission, Velocity 3, Team ADR, and Megatech PH.
The Governor’s Zero Hunger Run was an initiative of the Office of Cebu Governor Pamela S. Baricuatro, aimed at raising support for programs addressing hunger and improving food security among Cebuanos.
The resolution also recognized the contributions of Cebu Capitol offices, partner government agencies, participating local government units, sponsors, volunteers, and thousands of runners whose support helped ensure the success of the charity event held on August 2.
The Provincial Board noted that the successful staging of the inaugural run reflects the Cebu Provincial Government’s commitment to initiatives that encourage public participation, strengthen partnerships, and create meaningful social impact through health and community-driven programs.
Following the race, Gov. Baricuatro thanked the participants who helped transform the advocacy into what she described as a movement.
“Thank you to every runner who showed up and ran with us,” the governor said.
Baricuatro, who joined the 1K fun run together with guests, Capitol officials, and employees, said the proceeds from the event will support initiatives focused on improving food security and nutrition for Cebuanos.
She also expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the province’s first Governor’s Zero Hunger Run, emphasizing that collective action remains essential in addressing hunger and building stronger communities.
