Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro led the ribbon-cutting ceremony for a newly installed state-of-the-art mammogram machine at the Cebu Provincial Hospital-Danao City on Saturday, August 8.
Provided by the Cebu Provincial Government, the equipment is the first mammogram machine installed at CPH-Danao City, strengthening the hospitalβs Radiology Department and expanding access to breast health services for residents.

The specialized X-ray equipment is designed to examine breast tissue and assist in the early detection of breast cancer, making screening more accessible and convenient for patients, particularly those living in Northern Cebu.
The installation of the mammogram machine forms part of the provincial governmentβs continuing efforts to bring essential healthcare services closer to communities and improve access to diagnostic services within the province.

With the new equipment, residents who need breast screening will have greater access to the service without having to travel farther to other healthcare facilities for the procedure.
The initiative also supports the provincial governmentβs broader efforts to strengthen public hospitals by improving their equipment, facilities, and capacity to provide specialized healthcare services.

Also present during the turnover ceremony were Provincial Health Office Head Dr. Sheila Faciol, PISO Health Consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan, Danao City Mayor Nito Durano and Vice Mayor Ivy Durano, CPH-Danao City Chief of Hospital Dr. Jenna Canoy, and Borbon Mayor Nico Dotillos.
The addition of the mammogram machine marks another step in strengthening healthcare services in Northern Cebu and providing Cebuanos with more accessible diagnostic and preventive care.
