Gov. Pamela Baricuatro reaffirmed the Cebu Provincial Governmentβs commitment to addressing the growing mobility and transportation challenges confronting Cebu, particularly Metro Cebu, as she welcomed participants to the First Mobility Chat at the Capitol Social Hall on September 11.
Acknowledging mobility as βone of the biggest headaches of urban Cebu,β Gov. Pam stressed that action cannot wait.

βBut if, indeed, we already missed the best time to do this, the next best opportunity is now,β she said.
Among the Provinceβs upcoming initiatives is Tabang PangByahe, a subsidized bus service supported by funding from the Department of Transportation and designed to make daily commuting more convenient and predictable.
According to Provincial Planning and Development Office Head Elizar Sabinay Jr., buses are targeted to arrive every 15 to 20 minutes during peak hours, reducing long and uncertain waiting times for commuters.
Initial routes will connect Cebu IT Park and Danao City in the north, and the Cebu South Bus Terminal and Simala, Sibonga in the south, with return trips on both routes.

The program also sets service standards for participating transport partners, including cleanliness and sanitation, functional GPS monitoring, accessibility for persons with disabilities and senior citizens, properly maintained air-conditioning, sufficient personnel and seating capacity, and compliance with transportation standards.
βWe are hoping that this will benefit the daily commuters, such as students, professionals and workers in Cebu,β Sabinay said.
For the Baricuatro administration, improving mobility is ultimately about improving everyday lifeβgiving Cebuanos a transportation system that is safer, more reliable, accessible, and respectful of their time.
