The Cebu Provincial Government provided free medical, dental, and mental health services to its employees through the Capitol Wellness Day held at the Capitol Social Hall.
The wellness activity gave employees an opportunity to take a break from their daily responsibilities while accessing various health services, including free massage, medical and dental checkups, laboratory tests, nutrition counseling, medicines, and vitamins.

Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro also participated in the activity and availed herself of the wellness services, encouraging employees to prioritize their health and well-being.
Capitol Piso Health Consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan said the initiative recognizes the dedication of provincial government workers who continue to deliver services to Cebuanos.
“Our employees work every day to keep the Provincial Government moving and its services reaching the Cebuano people. This time, we make space for their own health and well-being,” Catalan said.
Aside from physical health services, employees also participated in activities designed to promote mental wellness. The Provincial Health Office organized a coloring activity to help workers relax, manage stress, and recharge amid their busy schedules.

Debrah Ann Cortez, Mental Health Program Coordinator of the Provincial Health Office, said creative activities can provide employees with a healthy way to express themselves and take a temporary break from work-related pressures.
“We have this section called Mental Health Matters. Since we are government employees, busy kaayo atoang mga schedule, so we need to take a break and pause for a while,” Cortez said.
“Ma-divert ang imong attention, and sometimes ma-realize nalang nimo nga kabalo man diay ka mo-color. It’s one way of expressing yourself,” she added.

Blood donation drive supports community health
The wellness event also featured a blood donation drive where Capitol employees volunteered to donate blood as part of their commitment to helping others.
Jesse Mesias of the Provincial Engineerβs Office, a regular blood donor, shared that donating blood provides a sense of fulfillment because it allows public servants to extend help beyond their workplace.
“Maayo man nga makatabang ta sa lain kay public servant man pud ta,” Mesias said.
The Capitol Wellness Day is among the activities organized in celebration of the Province of Cebuβs 457th Founding Anniversary.
Through the initiative, the provincial government highlighted the importance of employee wellness, recognizing that healthy and supported workers are essential in delivering efficient public service to Cebuanos.
