A festive atmosphere filled the Cebu Capitol as employees and their families gathered to celebrate the Province of Cebuβs 457th Founding Anniversary through a joyful celebration highlighted by a raffle draw, fellowship, and messages on public service.

The gathering brought together Capitol workers and their loved ones, creating a meaningful occasion that honored Cebuβs long history while recognizing the dedication of those who continue to serve the province.
During the celebration, Governor Pamela Baricuatro reflected on the importance of putting public service above personal and political interests.
Responding to the homily of Fr. Jonathan Rubin on the responsibility of elected officials to serve the people they have sworn to represent, Gov. Baricuatro shared a quote attributed to former President Manuel L. Quezon.

“My loyalty to the party ends where my loyalty to the people begins,” Baricuatro said.
She added, “Wala lang sa taβy pamolitika karon kay ang atoa diri serbisyo,” emphasizing that the focus of government workers and officials should always be serving the people.
The governorβs message highlighted the importance of unity, commitment, and dedication among public servants as Cebu continues to move forward.

The anniversary celebration concluded with a raffle draw that brought excitement and happiness among employees and their families, strengthening the sense of community within the Cebu Capitol workforce.
As Cebu marks its 457th year, the celebration serves as a reminder of the provinceβs rich heritage and the shared responsibility of leaders, employees, and citizens in shaping its future.
